Rui Hu (b. 1990, China) is a Los Angeles-based artist. His work often uses a mix of rendered and captured images as the base form to reconstruct environments and objects. This reconstruction is often driven by a desire towards narrative, and at the same time playfully explores the interaction between the visual form and language as a symbolic system whose referentiality can be abstract and ambiguous. Rui holds a MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles, a BFA from New York University, and has studied literature and film. His work has been shown at venues including the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Netherlands; the Images Festival at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Canada; Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl, Germany; International Symposium on Electronic Art, Hong Kong; and the Australian Center for the Moving Image, Australia.

作品曾在诸多机构展出,如荷兰鹿特丹国际电影节(the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Netherlands)、加拿大安大略美术馆影像节(the Images Festival at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Canada)、德国马尔市玻璃房雕塑博物馆(Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl, Germany)、香港国际电子艺术研讨会(International Symposium on Electronic Art, Hong Kong)、澳大利亚移动影像中心(the Australian Center for the Moving Image, Australia)等。
